About the Author of Storm Codes

Tracy Nelson Maurer grew up near the international port of Duluth-Superior. Her grandfather, the late Captain Harvey C. Almstedt, skippered the flagship Edward B. Greene of the Cleveland-Cliffs’ Great Lakes fleet. His sailing stories inspired this historically based children’s fiction book.
